The invention discloses a porous ceramic formulation with desulfurization activity for an automobile three-way catalytic converter and a preparing method of porous ceramic. The porous ceramic formulation is characterized by comprising, by weight, 90-100 parts of aluminum sol, 40-60 parts of micro-nanoscale alpha-Al2O3, 20-30 parts of a pore-forming agent, 0-5 parts of a binding agent, 2-5 parts of an adhesion agent, 250-350 parts of an acid solution with pH ranging from 3 to 4 and 500-600 parts of desulfurizing agent sol; inorganic salt serves as the pore-forming agent; the adhesion agent is prepared from calcium sulfate. According to the porous ceramic formulation with desulfurization activity for the automobile three-way catalytic converter and the preparing method of the porous ceramic, the porous ceramic uniform in pore and high in pore-forming rate is prepared through an aluminum sol-gel method with the combination of inorganic salt serving as the pore-forming agent, and meanwhile zinc ferrite sol is adopted for desulfurization, so that the specific surface area of the porous ceramic is large, many catalytic activation sites are available, the purifying capability is high, and sulfur positioning of the porous ceramic is avoided.
