The invention relates to a passive locking device for a door system of an urban rail vehicle and a public bus. The passive locking device comprises a lead screw driven by a power source and a nut. A roller pin is fixed to one side of the nut, and a connecting piece is connected to the other side of the nut. The passive locking device further comprises a guide piece parallel to the lead screw, and the guide piece is matched with the roller pin and can guide the roller pin to axially move along the lead screw. The passive locking device is characterized in that a limiting piece is connected to the tail end of the guide piece; a carrying piece is further included and carries the roller pin when the roller pin moves to the position corresponding to a door leaf locking position and rotates around the lead screw in the axial direction, and the carrying piece is supported by an elastic mechanism so as to have the tendency of restoring to the initial state all the time. Compared with the prior art, the passive locking device has the beneficial effects that the carrying piece replaces a groove, likely to have rigid collisions with the roller pin, in an existing locking block, and the carrying piece is supported by the elastic mechanism so that the carrying piece can effectively buffer the rigid impact force generated when the roller pin falls onto the carrying piece.
