The invention discloses a material for building a temporary airtight wall in a coal mine well and an airtight wall building method. The material comprises following components in percentage by weight:95 to 98.6% of silicate cement, 0.8 to 2.2% of sodium dodecyl sulfonate, 0.2 to 0.8% of building rubber powder, 0.2 to 1.2% of calcium formate, and 0.1 to 0.8% of polypropylene fiber filaments. The components mentioned above are evenly mixed, added into 36 to 40% of water, and evenly mixed. The mixture is injected into an isolation space by a special facility. The isolation space is arranged on the cross section of a tunnel; is enclosed by a metal screen, whose pore size is not less than 100 meshes, and has a width of 0.5 to 2 meters. The provided method has the advantages that the using amount of materials is low, the cost is low, the heat generated during the curing process is small, the high temperature resistant performance is good, and the construction period for building a temporaryairtight wall is short.
