The invention relates to the technical field of preparation of thermal insulation materials, and discloses a preparation method of an inorganic fiber thermal insulation material. The preparation method comprises the following steps of 1) material selection, wherein a raw material with a pit-free surface and good texture is selected, impurities on the surface are removed for use, and the second step is facilitated; and 2) pretreatment of the raw material, wherein the raw material selected in the first step is placed in a drying machine for drying, so that the raw material is dried and moistureis prevented from affecting subsequent procedures; and then the to-be-crushed raw material is placed in a crusher to be crushed into small particles and sieved. According to the preparation method ofthe inorganic fiber thermal insulation material, the quality of a product is greatly improved through material selection, drying can ensure that the influence of the moisture is avoided, the proportion is more accurate, the quality of the finished product is more excellent, the hydraulicity of the thermal insulation material is improved, the unit weight is small, the heat conductivity coefficientis small, the fireproof capability is high, and the thermal insulation material can adapt to complex building joints and is suitable for heat preservation of external walls of buildings.
