The invention discloses a core-shell structure ceramsite coating layer additive and an application thereof, which belong to the technical field of contaminated soil governing, the ceramsite coating layer additive comprises the following raw materials by mass: 20-90% of a fluxing agent; and 10%-80% of a passivating agent. The additive provided by the invention can further enhance the solid sealingeffect of the coating layer on heavy metals, reduce the porosity of a coating layer, increase the compactness of the coating layer, reduce the leaching risk of the heavy metals and realize harmless treatment.
