The invention provides a process for producing a high-strength sintered hollow brick by utilizing tailings, and relates to the technical field of hollow bricks. The process comprises the following steps: (1) stirring and crushing river silt, adding water into the crushed river silt, tailing powder, mullite powder, illite powder, rice hull ash and Portland cement for stirring; performing stirring and kneading after aging; performing forming by a two-stage vacuum extruder; (2) naturally drying the hollow brick green body in a room-temperature windless environment, then, putting the hollow brickgreen body into a drying chamber for two-stage drying, and strictly controlling the temperature, the relative air humidity and the flow rate of air; (3) putting the hollow brick dry blank into a furnace for firing, and strictly controlling the heating speed; and (4) performing cooling to room temperature along with the furnace after firing. The tailing powder, the mullite powder, the illite powder, the rice hull ash, the Portland cement and the river mud are reasonably matched, and through an optimized production process, the prepared sintered hollow brick is high in strength, low in water absorption, low in heat conduction coefficient, attractive in appearance and good in sound insulation effect.
