The invention relates to a self-resetting and variable-rigidity composite damper. The self-resetting and variable-rigidity composite damper comprises a railcar group formed by connecting a plurality of railcars in series as well as a magnetorheological damper; the railcars are arranged on sliding rails arranged on a damping structure; the two ends of the railcar group are connected with the damping structure through the magnetorheological damper; the adjacent railcars are connected through an energy-consuming connecting assembly; a cavity is formed in each railcar; a movable magnetic isolatingsliding sheet is arranged in the cavity; a rubber coated steel ball is arranged between the cavity and the magnetic isolating sliding sheet; and a locking mechanism for fixing the magnetic isolatingsliding sheet is arranged at one end, far away from the rubber coated steel ball, of the cavity. In the face of small wind and small vibration, vibration absorption and energy consumption are conducted by a spiral spring, the magnetorheological damper and an SMA pull rope; and the rubber coated steel balls move and collide in the railcars to consume energy.
