The invention relates to a viaduct sound insulation method. The method comprises the following steps: installing vertical sound insulation plates, to be more specific, the vertical sound insulation plates are arranged on the two sides of guardrails of a viaduct; and arranging extending sound insulation plates at the upper ends of the vertical sound insulation plates. The extending ends of the extending sound insulation plates on the two sides of the viaduct are connected to form a sound insulation cover. A sound insulation screen plate is detachably arranged on the vertical sound insulation plate; the extending sound insulation plate is detachably connected with the upper end of the vertical sound insulation plate; the extending ends of the extending sound insulation plates form buckling connection. In the actual construction process of a viaduct sound insulation barrier, the vertical sound insulation plates are installed on the two sides of the guardrail, so that the vertical sound insulation plates and the extending sound insulation plates form a closed sound insulation device, noise is located in the sound insulation cover to vibrate, and the sound insulation screen plates are installed on the vertical sound insulation plates; therefore, rapid vibration generated by the wheels and the bridge floor can be effectively absorbed.
