The vertical plate type eddy current tuned mass damper is composed of a top plate, a limiting plate, a middle column, a copper bush fixing column, spring limiting columns, a bottom plate, movable blocks, strip-like grooves, springs, copper plate fixing blocks and copper plates, wherein the bottom plate is a rectangular structure body with a certain thickness; the middle column is fixed to the middle of the upper side of the bottom plate; the middle column extends upwards by a certain distance; the top plate is a square structure body with a round hole in the middle, and the top plate has a certain thickness; and the copper bush fixing column is fixedly embedded into the round hole in the top plate. The copper magnetic gap of the vertical plate type eddy current tuned mass damper can be adjusted, a copper piece is arranged at the joint of a mass block and a spring limiting supporting column in order to reducethe influence of friction force, and a magnet can directly attract on the mass block without additional back iron.
