The invention discloses an aerial work platform suitable for steel bridge construction. The aerial work platform structurally comprises a protection framework, side rods, a base, shear frames and moving openings. The protection framework and the base are of an integrated structure. The base is fixed by the side rods. The shear frames and the moving openings are mounted between the bottom of the base and the side rods. A lifting mechanism of the aerial work platform is formed by the shear frames and the moving openings. Each moving opening is composed of shearing frame cushions, a stretching strip, a guide mechanism and a bearing bag. The shearing frame cushions are fixed to the two sides of the positions, located on the inner edges of the moving openings, of the shear frames. According tothe aerial work platform, the shearing frames are isolated from the outside through the shear frame cushions and the stretching strips, the rotating portions of the shearing frames are protected against the influence of dust particles in the process of achieving effective ascending and descending of the shear frames, and the situation that lubricants are contaminated, and friction force between the shear frames is kept is avoided.
