The invention relates to a method for constructing a foundation pit in situ and newly adding an underground structure below an existing preserved building. The method comprises the steps of constructing vertical bearing members in soil layers around the existing preserved building; constructing working wells at peripheries of the vertical bearing members, and constructing bearing beams in the working wells, wherein the bearing beams are located below the existing preserved building; connecting the bearing beams with the vertical bearing members through transfer beams, so that a stress system is transmitted to the vertical bearing members from the bearing beams through the transfer beams; carrying out excavating downwards in the working wells around the existing preserved building in a layered manner to form a peripheral part of the foundation pit, and excavating the soil layers below the bearing beams and the transfer beams; and finally forming the foundation pit. The method has no damage to the existing preserved building, and stable support and effective protection can be provided; and large-scale construction of the foundation pit below the existing preserved building can be performed directly, and the requirement for the area of a working site is not high.
