The invention relates to a high-rise residential district and a construction method thereof in the field of civil engineering. The high-rise residential district and the construction method thoroughlysolve the sharp contradiction between the requirements of residents for the improvement of the environmental quality of the district and high-grade convenient parking spaces and the high-cost construction of underground parking lots. The high-rise residential district comprises a plate-type high-rise residential building (4), the building (4) is provided with a plurality of residential units (13), a vehicle carrying system (9) is arranged on one side of the side face of the long side of the building and conveys vehicles to corresponding floor parking spaces (11) of all residences in all floors, the vehicle carrying system is arranged according to the mode that the vehicle carrying system (9) is adjacent to the side face of the long side of the building (4) and is not counted in a shared area, and the floor parking spaces (11) of all sets of residences are arranged in a manner of being adjacent to the side face of the long side of the building and not counted in the inside space; and in addition, an underground travelling channel (2) is included and enables an entrance and an exit (8 and 8') of the residential district with an entrance and exit (7) of the bottommost layer of the respective vehicle carrying system located in a basement (B1).
