The modified rock wool thermal insulation product is composed of rock wool filaments and a modifying substance doped into the rock wool filaments, and the modifying substance is graphite, SiO2 aerogel or graphite-SiO2 aerogel. The preparation method comprises the following steps: adding the modifying substance into a dispersing agent, uniformly mixing to form a stable dispersion liquid, respectively and simultaneously spraying the modified dispersion liquid and phenolic resin onto the rock wool filaments in the fiber forming process to form modified rock wool yarns, and carrying out cotton collection, conveying, pleating, pressurizing and curing to obtain the rock wool product. The rock wool thermal insulation product is modified by adding the modifying substance, and the prepared modified rock wool thermal insulation product is low in heat conductivity coefficient and good in thermal insulation effect.
