The invention discloses a bulletproof ceramic surface layer plate and a preparation method thereof. The surface layer plate comprises a bulletproof characteristic layer and a bottom post; the outer end surface of a bulletproof characteristic surface layer is a convex surface; the bottom surface of the bottom post is a plane or a curved surface; the inner end surface of the bulletproof characteristic surface layer is connected with the bottom post to form a bulletproof monomer; a bulletproof principle is that geometric normal penetration of an incoming bullet is converted into physical obliquepenetration by the outer end surface; and various bulletproof monomers are interconnected to form the surface layer plate through the side surfaces of the bulletproof monomers. When the surface layerplate is put into use after being prepared, the geometric normal penetration of the incoming bullet is converted into actual physical oblique penetration through the convex surface at the outer end ofa bulletproof surface layer, so that the bullet yaws in a penetration process and a steel cone bears great bending tensile stress; therefore, the tip of the steel cone is broken, the effective incepting area is increased, more kinetic energy of the bullet is consumed, the protective thickness and area are increased effectively. An effective method for reducing the weight of a bulletproof materialis provided.
