The invention relates to a construction method of a side wall type formwork support. The method comprises the following steps of S1, pre-embedment of connecting parts, wherein a floor slab required for being installed with a bedplate is named a middle floor slab, and the floor slab below the middle floor slab is named a lower floor slab; a first pre-embedded part and a second pre-embedded part arearranged on the end faces, facing outdoors, of the middle floor slab and the lower floor slab; S2, material preparation, wherein a supporting rod and the bedplate are prepared; S3, installation of the supporting rod, wherein the supporting rod is taken to be installed on the second pre-embedded part of the lower floor slab to enable the supporting rod to rotate in the vertical direction; and S4,installation of the bedplate, wherein a shelf plate is welded to the first pre-embedded part; the bedplate is taken to be placed on the upper surface of the middle floor slab, the supporting rod is rotated, and the end portion of the supporting rod is fixed on the surface of the bedplate, so that the supporting rod can rotate relative to the bedplate; the bedplate is pushed toward outdoors until the bedplate is placed on the shelf plate, and the shelf plate and the bedplate are fixed through bolts. The construction method has the effects of maintaining the integrity of the middle floor slab and improving construction efficiency.
