The invention discloses a heat-insulation straw board for an external wall and a preparation method and application thereof. The heat-insulation straw board for the external wall consists of a cementmortar layer, a straw board core and a coating, wherein the cement mortar layer is made of sulphate aluminium cement, and the straw board core comprises, by mass, 40-80 parts of straw, 1-2 parts of filler, 4-6 parts of metallic oxide and 5-15 parts of halogen-free flame-retardant adhesive; and the coating comprises, by mass, 100 parts of acrylate, 0.4 part of dimethyl carbonate, 6-10 parts of modified kaolin, 6-10 parts of monopotassium phosphate, 4-8 parts of aluminum dihydrogen phosphate, 0.5-5 parts of sodium tetraborate, 6-10 parts of styrene, 10-20 parts of ethyl alcohol, 0.5-0.2 part oflauryl sodium sulfate, 0.1-2 parts of ammonium persulfate, 4-8 parts of dioctyl phthalate, 6-10 parts of talcum powder and 1-3 parts of ammonium azoformate, and the heat-insulation straw board is obtained after raw materials are uniformly dispersed in a dispersing agent.
