The silicon carbide micro-powder is prepared from, by weight, 10 to 20 partsof water-soluble phenolic resin, 6 to 10 parts of tetraethoxysilane, 0.6 to 0.8 part of p-toluenesulfonyl chloride, 6 to 8 parts of an acid solution, 3 to 5 parts of an alkaline solution and 0.1 to 0.3 part of catalyst. The invention relates to the technical field of silicon carbide micro-powder preparation. The preparation method comprises the following steps: mixing the water-soluble phenolic resin and tetraethoxysilane, stirring the obtained mixed solution by using a centrifugal stirrer at a stirring rate of 800 r/min for 30 minutes, and adding a catalyst hydrochloric acid solution into the mixed solution while stirring the solution. By adopting the process to prepare the silicon carbide micro-powder, the prepared silicon carbide micro-powder is high in purity, the solid phase contentof the silicon carbide micro-powder is relatively high when the silicon carbide micro-powder is used for preparing silicon carbide slurry, the use quality of the silicon carbide micro-powder is relatively high, and the quality of produced ceramic is relatively good.
