The invention discloses an environment-friendly building decoration thermal insulation material and a preparation method thereof. The environment-friendly building decoration thermal insulation material comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight: 300 to 400 parts of basalt, 60 to 90 parts of granite, 50 to 70 parts of white rock, 100 to 130 parts of coal gangue, 180 to 220 parts of slag and 200 to 250 parts of coke. The method comprises the steps: S1, pretreatment of raw materials: firstly, carrying out primary crushing treatment on basalt, granite, white rock, 100-130 parts of coal gangue, slag and coke; S2, raw material metering: metering and weighing the raw materials treated in the step S1 according to the weight percentage; S3, raw material ball milling; S4, mixing the admixture: discharging the slurry obtained in the S3; S5, spray granulation; s6, paving the granulated powder in the step S5 in a mold, and preheating, sintering, shaping and annealing in a heating furnace; and S7, uniformly coating the surface of the porous sintered thermal insulation material obtained in S6 with a flame retardant. The building thermal insulation material prepared in the inventionhas the characteristics of good thermal insulation function, fire resistance, water resistance and light weight, can meet the requirements of building energy-saving construction, and can achieve remarkable technical effects and economic advantages.
