The invention also discloses the magnesium oxide for the moisture-proof fireproof cable prepared by the method. The preparation method of the magnesium oxidefor the moistureproof fireproof cable is simple and easy to implement, the prepared magnesium oxide for the moistureproof fireproof cable has excellent moistureproof and insulating properties, and the insulation is still greater than or equal to 1000 Momega under the condition that the humidity is 80% RH for 5 hours.
