The invention belongs to the technical field of building material preparation, and discloses a preparation method of a light reinforced geopolymer thermal insulation material. The method comprises thefollowing steps: (1) taking diatomite and biogas slurry to prepare biogas slurry modified diatomite filter residues; (2) carrying out ball milling and mixing on the biogas slurry modified diatomite filter residues, BBSZ glass powder and nano iron powder, and carrying out carbonization reaction to obtain a reinforcing additive containing silicon carbide whiskers; (3) uniformly stirring metakaolin,nanometer aluminum oxide powder and sulfuric acid with the mass fraction of 65-80%, and conducting heating to obtain modified metakaolin; and (4) stirring and mixing a surfactant OP10, absolute ethylalcohol, modified carbon nanotubes, dopamine, calcium stearate and a water glass solution, sequentially adding a mixture of the modified metakaolin and red mud and the reinforcing additive containingsilicon carbide whiskers in the stirring process, carrying out injection molding, curing and curing, and conducting demolding to obtain the geopolymer porous material. The geopolymer thermal insulation material obtained by the method is low in apparent density, high in bending strength and excellent in thermal insulation performance.
