The invention belongs to the technical field of industrial solid waste resource utilization and building material manufacturing, and particularly relates to a preparation method of a fiber type clay reinforced solid waste based geopolymer thermal insulation material. The preparation method of the material comprises the following steps: uniformly mixing the fiber type clay, water, industrial solid waste and an alkali activator to obtain slurry; pouring to obtain a green body with a required shape, and curing at room temperature; freeze-drying the cured green body to obtain a porous structure; and finally, dipping by using a proper amount of water glass, and carrying out steam curing to obtain the fiber-type clay-reinforced solid waste-based geopolymer porous thermal insulation material. The thermal insulation material obtained by the method has the characteristics of greenness, low carbon, low cost, controllable porosity and pore size and the like, and meanwhile, the aims of lighter weight, stronger strength, better fire resistance and better heat insulation are fulfilled.
