The invention discloses an ecological protection structure and method for a broken hard rock slope. The structure comprises a latticed frame which is closely attached to the slope surface of the broken hard rock slope, and the interior of the frame is provided with a frame cross beam and a frame vertical beam, and the frame cross beam and the frame vertical beam divide the frame into a latticed structure with a plurality of lattices. Anchor rods vertically penetrate through cross joints of the frame cross beams and the frame vertical beam and penetrate into the broken hard rock slope to be fixed, and vegetation bagged nutrient soil with plant grass seeds is piled in each lattice. According to the ecological protection structure, the latticed frame is adopted and fixed through the anchor rods for the broken hard rock and steep side slopes, the stability of the whole greening structure is greatly improved, meanwhile, vegetation bags are adopted to replace manners of grass planting through grass seeds sown on the surface, base materials sown in a spraying manner and the like, the vegetation bags are not prone to being scoured off during rainfall, the water and fertilizer retention capability is good, the surface layer weathering is fast, and the long-time greening effect can be maintained.
