The connecting structure comprises prefabricated units arranged oppositelyand a cast-in-place part arranged between the prefabricated units; each prefabricated unit comprises a plurality of H-shaped steel beams, bridge decks arranged on the H-shaped steel beams and connecting parts arranged at the ends of the H-shaped steel beams; the connecting parts comprise the first connecting parts arranged at the end part of one prefabricated unit and second connecting parts arranged on the other prefabricated unit; each first connecting part comprises a first transverse connecting plate and a first transverse partition plate which are connected between the H-shaped steel beams and on the two sides of the H-shaped steel beams; an even number of first longitudinal connecting plates are symmetrically arranged on each first connecting part along the center of each H-shaped steel beam; and the connecting structure is characterized in that a reserved space is formed among the first longitudinal connecting plates, the first transverse connecting plates and the bottoms of thefirst transverse partition plates. The invention further discloses a construction method of the light composite beam pier top longitudinal connecting structure. The light composite beam pier top longitudinal connecting structure and the construction method thereof have the advantages of convenience in installation and construction, enhanced transverse and longitudinal strength, reduced concrete cracking risk and the like.
