The invention relates to the technical field of mortar production, in particular to a phosphogypsum exterior wall plastering mortar and a preparation method thereof, and the phosphogypsum exterior wall plastering mortar comprises the following components in parts by weight: 500-540 parts of phosphogypsum, 15-25 parts of coke, 4-5 parts of bauxite, 5-6 parts of sandstone, 430-470 parts of fine sand, 0.5-1.5 part of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose, 5-7 parts of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, 0.5-1.5 parts of starch ether, and 0.05-0.15 part of A-olefine sodium sulfonate. The preparation method comprises the following steps: crushing the phosphogypsum, the coke, the bauxite and the sandstone, pre-homogenizing, calcining in a heat source, grinding, and mixing the powder with other materials to produce the plastering mortar. By controlling the dosage ratio of the components, the prepared mortar is high in strength, the strength of the building exterior wall is enhanced, and the servicelife of the building exterior wall is prolonged; the tensile bonding strength, impermeability and water retention rate of the mortar prepared by the preparation method disclosed by the invention areall improved, and the consistency loss rate of 2 hours is reduced.
