The invention provides an environment-friendly ceramic tile adhesive and a preparation method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of adhesive production. The adhesive comprises the following raw materials by weight: 10-30% of cement, 60-85% of machine-made sand, 5-15% of steel slag powder and/or composite micro powder, 0-1.5% of separable regenerated latex powder, and 0.05-1% of celluloseether. The invention also provides a preparation method of the adhesive. The adhesive is reasonable in formula, wide in source, low in cost and environmentally friendly, has good cohesiveness, good bonding strength and a mildew-proof effect and is not prone to cracking.
