The wallboard keel comprises a main keel body and auxiliary keel bodies; keel limiting mechanisms distributed at equal intervals are welded to the top faces of the auxiliary keel bodies; the auxiliary keel bodies are located between the keel limiting mechanisms and connected through reinforcing mechanisms; at least one set of main keels are inserted between the keel limiting mechanisms to be fixed to form auxiliary keelframes; and every two adjacent keel frames are connected through a folding mechanism. According to the foldable external wallboard keel for the prefabricated building and the assembling method thereof, by utilizing the characteristic that the multiple keel frames are mutually folded, the keels of an externally-hung wallboard do not need to be assembled one by one on site, after the keels are directly folded, the keel frames which are large in area can be divided into a plurality of groups, so that the occupied area can be reduced; when the keels are installed, only the keels need to be unfolded, and connecting positions are installed through hinges, so that the installation time is shortened; and only the positions of the hinges at the two sides need to be disassembled, so that the area of the disassembled keel frames can be controlled according to needs, and the keel frames are suitable for different transportation tools.
