The invention relates to the related field of building scaffolding, and discloses a device for assisting erection of scaffold vertical rods. The device comprises a main box, a vertical rod lifting cavity penetrating up and down is formed in the main box, lifting wheel cavities which are symmetrical left and right with the vertical rod lifting cavity as the center are formed in the left side and the right side of the vertical rod lifting cavity in a communicating mode, and friction wheel cavities with inward openings are formed in the lower sides of the lifting wheel cavities. Friction wheels which can only rotate in one direction enable the vertical rods to be pushed upwards slowly, it is guaranteed that the vertical rods can be self-locked when the pushing force is lost suddenly while thelabor amount is reduced, and the safety of workers in the building process is guaranteed; the vertical rods can be rapidly clamped by a front vertical rod clamping block and a rear vertical rod clamping block by shifting a shifting rod, so that the device is convenient to disassemble and assemble; and through rotating lifting wheels, the vertical rods to be built are made to ascend to the building position, and the situation that during manual building, dangerous accidents are caused due to the fact that the gravity center of the vertical rods is too high and the vertical rods fall down is avoided.
