The invention relates to a vibration damping and buffering support for a highway bridge, a first groove is formed in a base, and a second groove is formed in the bottom of the first groove. The support can provide multi-layer vibration reduction and buffering effects, and firstly, a first buffering system composed of the buffering supporting rod, the connecting sleeve, the buffering rod, the buffering pipe and the elastic component is used for providing first-layer buffering; a second buffer system composed of a rubber buffer pad and a second elastic part provides a second layer of buffer; andfinally, a lateral damping system composed of the first connecting base, the connecting rod, the second connecting base, the sliding block and the sliding rail provides third-layer buffering, so thatthe stability of the highway bridge is improved, and disasters are reduced.
