The invention belongs to the technical field of building greening, and particularly relates to an exterior wall decoration for greening an energy-saving building. The decoration comprises a flow guidemechanism and potting units, and the flow guide mechanism is connected onto a sewer pipe mounted on a building wall surface. For irrigation of the potting units, rainwater falling on a building roofduring raining is collected, and then, the rainwater is stored for automatic irrigation, so that the water resource is saved; meanwhile, pipelines for connecting the sewer pipe and water tanks are hidden at the inner side of potted plants, attractiveness of a building wall is unaffected, flowerpots and the water tanks are matched in a one-to-one manner, installation is convenient, and meanwhile, when the water tanks or the flowerpots need to be maintained, only the flowerpots or the water tanks need to be simply taken out, the flowerpots and the water tanks are smaller in size and convenient to take out, the manufacturing cost of the water tanks is lower, and when the water tanks need to be replaced, the broken water tanks can be directly thrown away; and time for repairing is not needed.
