The invention discloses a riverway revetment. The riverway revetment comprises a riprap foundation, a rubble concrete layer, adry rubble capping beam, a dry rubble surface layer, and a broken stone hardcore bed, wherein the rubble concrete layer is located on the upper side of the riprap foundation; the dry rubble capping beam is positioned at the side upper part of the revetment; the dry rubble surface layer is paved on the revetment and is arranged among the dry rubble capping beam, the riprap foundation and the rubble concrete layer; and the broken stone hardcore bed is positioned on the lower side of the dry rubble surface layer. The invention further discloses a riverway revetment construction method. According to the river revetment and the construction method thereof, the problems that an existing revetment is not suitable for construction in a working environment with water and the construction period is long are solved.
