The invention discloses an urban river revetment greening method which is characterized in that a rainwater collecting cement tank is formed in the bottom end of a revetment soil slope, a water locking wall is built at one end of the rainwater collecting cement tank, a water bank is connected to the top end of the rainwater collecting cement tank, a water changing pipe is installed at one end of the water bank in a penetrating mode, and a water changing motor is installed in the middle of the water changing pipe in an embedded mode; in order to achieve safer and more convenient use, the rainwater collecting cement tank, the gravel filtering layer, the filtering net filtering layer, the water locking wall, the water bank and the aframomum melegueta planting pipe are arranged, and water in a garden soil layer on the inner side of the revetment can be effectively locked through the water locking wall to prevent water loss; rainwater can be collected in a soil layer through the rainwater collection cement tank, the gravel filter layer and the filter screen filter layer for later use, and the aframomum melegueta planting pipe can facilitate deeper penetration of aframomum melegueta rhizomes into the soil layer.
