The ground tamping device for building construction comprises a box body; in the using process of a tamping mechanism, an eccentric wheel is driven by a motor to rotate, meanwhile, the eccentric wheel drives a first connecting rod hinged to the eccentric wheel to move up and down, and the right end of a transverse plate at the bottom of the first connecting rod moves up and down along with the first connecting rod and rotates around a fixed shaft; in the process that the transverse plate rotates up and down around the fixed shaft, the fixed shaft drives a second connecting rod hinged to the bottom to move up and down in a reciprocating mode, meanwhile, a first guide wheel at the bottom of the connecting rod moves up and down in a reciprocating mode, the up-down reciprocating movement of the first guide wheel is matched with a second guide wheel, a steel wire rope and a lifting lug to lift and descend heavy blocks and a tamping flat plate at the lower part, so that the operation of tamping the ground is achieved; and the two heavy blocks and the tamping flat plate which are arranged at the lower part at the same time can be used for tamping the two bottom surfaces at the same time, so that the ground tamping efficiency can be effectively improved.
