The ground tamping device comprises a support chassis and rolling devices, a plurality of driving wheels are mounted at the bottom of the support chassis, and the rear driving wheel is driven by a stepping motor fixed on the support chassis to intermittently rotate; a supporting handle is mounted at the right end of the supporting chassis, and a weight increasing pressing block is fixed to the upper portion of the left side of the supporting chassis and used for increasing the mass of the supporting chassis; the rolling devices are arranged in the middle of the supporting chassis and used for tamping the ground; the two groups of rolling devices are symmetrically arranged left and right in a sliding manner, so that vertical upward impact force generated in the tamping process can be effectively buffered; moreover, each group of rolling devices is of a rotatable structure, so that the ground can be conveniently compacted during advancing; and the rear rolling device of the two rolling devices is used for making up and tamping the tamping gap of the front rolling device.
