The invention discloses a connector for splicing building steel pipes. The connector comprises a main body, wherein a circular grinding cavity which surrounds the central axis of the circle center of the main body and communicates with the outside is formed in the main body; a grinding device is arranged in the grinding cavity and comprises a circular grinding rotating block which is rotationally arranged in the grinding cavity, and the circle center of the grinding rotating block coincides with the circle center of the grinding cavity; and grinding cavities which are vertically symmetric about the central axis of the grinding rotating block and communicate with the grinding cavity are formed in the grinding rotating block. According to the connector, the inner walls of the steel pipes with larger diameters can be ground and fixed and clamped, so that the risk that the connector slips off when connected with the steel pipes is prevented; meanwhile, the steel pipes with smaller diameters can be connected with the connector under the action of air pressure, so that the two steel pipes with different diameters are connected; and the steel pipes can be separated in a short time, so that the connecting and separating efficiency of the steel pipes is improved.
