The invention relates to an intercepting device for a water taking open channel. The intercepting device comprises a rotary mesh mechanism, a flushing mechanism and a conveying mechanism. The rotary mesh mechanism is mounted at a water inlet of the water taking open channel and comprises a mesh, and the mesh is used for filtering impurities in seawater; the flushing mechanism is arranged at a feeding end of the mesh and is used for flushing the mesh; the conveying mechanism is arranged at the feeding end of the mesh, the mesh can convey the impurities in the seawater to the conveying mechanism, and the conveying mechanism is used for conveying the impurities in the seawater to an impurity treatment location. The intercepting device for the water taking open channel has the advantages that the impurities in the seawater can be intercepted by the intercepting device, the mesh can be automatically flushed by the flushing mechanism, and accordingly periodic treatment can be omitted for staffs; and the intercepted impurities in the seawater can be directly conveyed to the impurity treatment location by the conveying mechanism and do not need to be conveyed to the impurity treatment location by the staffs to be treated, and accordingly the problem of unnecessary damage to system equipment due to the fact that existing impurities in existing seawater flow into existing water taking open channels from gaps when plane nets or net bags are replaced and blocked can be solved.
