The invention relates to a mechanical automatic beam grabbing device and a using method thereof. The mechanical automatic beam grabbing device is simple in structure, safe, reliable and easy and convenient to operate. According to the technical scheme, the mechanical automatic beam grabbing device is used for automatically grabbing and releasing a gate lifting shaft on a gate and is provided with a grabbing beam body; the two ends of the grabbing beam body are supported in gate grooves in the two sides of the gate through guide wheel mechanisms; a clamping device capable of clamping the gate lifting shaft is installed on the grabbing beam body; the clamping device is provided with an installation base fixed to the grabbing beam body; claw forceps composed of a left claw and a right claw are installed at the lower end of the installation base; the upper portion of the left claw and the upper portion of the right claw are rotationally installed on the installation base through rotating shafts; a locking mechanism capable of locking the relative positions of the left claw and the right claw when the claw forceps clamp and lift the gate lifting shaft is installed on the installation base; and an unlocking mechanism capable of unlocking the locking mechanism is arranged in corresponding to the locking mechanism.
