The invention discloses an ecological drainage ditch and a construction method. The ecological drainage ditch comprises a drainage ditch body, a plurality of filtering layers and a water permeable pipe, wherein the drainage ditch body comprises a filtering groove and a water collecting groove, and the water collecting groove is formed in the bottom of the filtering groove; the filtering layers are sequentially stacked in the water collecting groove and the filtering groove; and the water permeable pipe is embedded in the filtering layer in the water collecting groove. The ecological drainage ditch has the advantages that the ecological drainage ditch is provided with the filtering groove and the water collecting groove, the filtering layers are arranged in the filtering groove and the water collecting groove, water passes the filtering layers to effectively filter impurities discharged into the ecological drainage ditch and purify the water, the purified water permeates layer by layer through the filtering layers, the impact force of the water can be relieved, the shape of the drainage ditch can be stabilized effectively, and the drainage ditch can be prevented from deforming; and the water permeable pipe is embedded in the water collecting groove, part of the purified water enters the water permeable pipe and is discharged directly, and underground water balance is kept.
