The invention provides a process for treating steel mill iron slag through a tunnel kiln. The process comprises the following steps: S1, laying an inert material at the bottom of the tunnel kiln; S2, uniformly mixing the steel mill iron slag with a cosolvent to prepare green bricks; S3, drying the green bricks in a dryer; S4, loading the green bricks into a kiln car, pushing the kiln car into the tunnel kiln, introducing reducing gas, and firing; and S5, taking the green bricks out of the kiln, and crushing the green bricks into small particles. The process effectively solves the problems of serious hardening, incomplete volatilization of zinc, lead and the like, low valuable metal recovery rate, incapability of recycling generated iron slag and the like in the traditional process.
