The invention provides a vertical-rib-free variable-diameter reinforcement cage for an anchor rod or a pile foundation. The vertical-rib-free variable-diameter reinforcement cage comprises an axial rod, a power spring, N circular rings or annular plates and N sets of ribs, wherein N is 3 or above; the circular rings or annular plates are evenly distributed on the axial rod and slide on the axial rod; one end of each rib in each set is evenly and movably fixed to the corresponding circular ring or annular plate, the other end of each rib is a free end, each set includes 3-12 ribs, and the axial rod is sleeved with the power spring; and the elasticity of the power spring abuts against the circular rings or annular plates, and the power spring is used for supporting the ribs open and released by a releasing device.
