The invention relates to a connecting beam for mounting a viscous damping wall and a construction method of the connecting beam. The construction method comprises the steps that a steel framework is provided; a first structure is provided and fixed to the bottom end of the steel framework, and a first mounting surface for mounting a first damping wall is formed at the bottom of the first structure; a second structure is provided and fixed at the top end of the steel framework, and a second mounting surface for mounting a second damping wall is formed at the top of the second structure; a pair of first bottom formworks are provided and are horizontally arranged and vertically fixed on two opposite sides of the first structure; a pair of second bottom formworks are provided and are horizontally arranged and vertically fixed on two opposite sides of the second structure; and a pair of side formworks are provided, are vertically arranged on two opposite sides of the steel framework and are connected to the first bottom formworks and the second bottom formworks, and concrete is poured into a pouring space defined by the pair of side formworks, the pair of first bottom formworks and the pair of second bottom formworks to form a concrete structure. The overall stability and firmness of the steel framework and the concrete structure are good. The first bottom formworks and the first structure are tightly connected, so that mortar leakage is avoided.
