The invention relates to the field of water reducing agents, in particular to a preparation process of an aliphatic water reducer and the aliphatic water reducer. The preparation process comprises the following steps: S1, dissolving sodium sulfite in water, adding acetone, fully mixing, then adding formaldehyde accounting for 18-22% of the total amount, controlling the reaction temperature to be less than 45 DEG C, and carrying out heat preservation reaction for 0.5-1 hour to obtain a first reactant; s2, dropwise adding 38-41% of the total amount of formaldehyde into the first reactant, the dropwise adding time being 1-1.5 h, controlling the reaction temperature to be 45-70 DEG C, and performing heat preservation reaction for 0.5-1 h to obtain a second reactant; and S3, dropwise adding the rest formaldehyde into the second reactant for 1-1.5 hours, controlling the reaction temperature to be 70-97 DEG C, carrying out heat preservation reaction for 2-3 hours after dropwise adding, and cooling to 55-65 DEG C to obtain the aliphatic water reducer. The aliphatic water reducer prepared by the invention has excellent dispersing performance.
