The construction method of a hollow outer wall comprises the following steps: fixedly arranging a pouring formwork on an outer side of a shear wall, wherein an opening is formed in a top part of the pouring formwork and concrete is poured into the pouring formwork through the opening; arranging a plurality of air bags in the pouring formwork, wherein inlets and openings of the air bags are arranged in the same direction; injecting liquid and/or gas into the multiple air bags and sealing inlets of the air bags so as to enable the air bags to keep a preset pressure; pouring concrete into the pouring formwork and solidifying the concrete to form a hollow outer wall; releasing the gas in the air bags and/or extracting the liquid in the air bags, and taking out the air bags to form a plurality of filling spaces in the hollow outer wall; and pouring a foam cement paste into the filling spaces and conducting solidifying to form a heat preservation structure. The construction method of a hollow outer wall can improve overall connection stability and strength of a concrete wall body.
