The river bank retaining wall comprises two retaining wall sets arranged on the two sides of a river channel correspondingly; each retaining wall set comprises a plurality of retaining wall bodies which abut against one another in sequence, two inserting blocks fixedly arranged below the retaining wall bodies, a plurality of connecting mechanisms arranged between every two adjacent retaining wall bodies and used for connecting the two adjacent retaining wall bodies, and a plurality of fixing mechanisms arranged between the retaining wall bodies and the bottom wall of the river channel and used for connecting the retaining wall bodies and the bottom wall of the river channel. Each retaining wall body is a hollow shell; the fixing mechanisms are located in the retaining wall bodies; the two inserting blocks are arranged in a spaced mode; inserting grooves matched with the inserting blocks are formed in the bottom of the river channel; and the inserting blocks are inserted into the inserting grooves. The river bank retaining wall has the effects of simplifying the construction process of the river bank retaining wall and shortening the construction period of the river bank retaining wall.
