The invention discloses a trolley for dismantling an existing station canopy and a construction method. The trolley comprises a walking mechanism and stand columns, wherein a door-type structure of the trolley is composed of the left stand column, the right stand column, a left cross beam and a right cross beam; the two cross beams incline upwards by a certain angle and are connected at the ends to form a slope top-shaped top structure; a front door-type structure and a rear door-type structure form an integral trolley structure through connecting rod pieces; crown blocks capable of moving longitudinally are installed on the two sides of the top of the trolley; and hanging rails of the crown blocks are installed below the front cross beam and the rear cross beam. A tunnel type canopy needs to be dismantled, before dismantling, trolley rails are installed on the two sides of the canopy, the trolley is assembled, the canopy is divided into multiple whole dismantling units, the trolley is moved to the position above the canopy for protection, and the whole dismantling units are hoisted out through the crown blocks on the trolley.
