The invention discloses a preparation method for sludge ash. The preparation method comprises the following steps: 1) drying sludge, conducting calcining at a high temperature, and performing rapid cooling; and 2) crushing the cooled sludge to obtain the sludge ash. The invention further discloses a gypsum block. The gypsum block comprises the sludge ash. The sludge ash is added into a formula for the gypsum block, so comprehensive utilization of sludge solid waste is facilitated, and the purposes of effectively utilizing resources and comprehensively treating environmental pollution are achieved. Meanwhile, the building block has excellent strength. The added sludge ash and used desulfurized gypsum, phosphogypsum and titanium gypsum clinker are economical and environmentally friendly, pollution of solid waste to the environment is reduced, and recycling of the solid waste is facilitated.
