The invention discloses a production process of fused mullite. The fused mullite comprises the following raw materials: bauxite and silica; and according to selection of mullite raw materials, silicon dioxide in silica reduces the accuracy of burdening, the main component of bauxite is aluminum oxide, and the mullite prepared from the two raw materials is extremely low in residual carbon, low in porosity, low in impurity content, high in breaking strength and good in needle crystal development.
