The invention relates to the technical field of waterways, in particular to a waterway structure for water sports and a construction method thereof. The waterway structure for water sports comprises a roadbed water stable layer, a pavement layer and a drainage pipe; the pavement layer is arranged in the middle of the upper surface of the roadbed water stable layer; a first impermeable layer is laid on the contact surface between the pavement layer and the roadbed water stable layer; curbstones are arranged at the two horizontal ends of the pavement layer; water collecting slopes are arranged at the ends, away from the pavement layer, of the curbstones; the water collecting slopes cover the two sides of the upper surface of the roadbed water stable layer; and a second impermeable layer is arranged on the contact surface between the water collecting slopes and the roadbed water stable layer. Compared with the prior art, the waterway structure has a good water seepage prevention function; the collapse of the pavement and the water collecting slopes is avoided, the overhaul frequency is greatly reduced, and the durability of the waterway structure is improved. The waterway structure is novel and is easy to manufacture. The construction cost is greatly reduced; and water level adjustment and control are conveniently achieved.
