The invention discloses a composite speed reducer. The speed reducer comprises a case, a case cover, a worm, worm gear and an output shaft, wherein the case and the case cover are covered with each other; the worm and the worm gear are installed in the case and meshed with each other, a driving shaft is inserted and fixed in the center of the worm gear, a crank synchronously rotating with the worm gear is fixed to the driving shaft in a sleeving manner, and a small shaft parallel to the driving shaft is arranged at the end of the crank in a protruding manner; the output shaft is arranged in the case and is parallel to the driving shaft, a rocking bar which synchronously rotates is fixedly mounted on the output shaft in a sleeving manner, a waist groove is formed in a bar body of the rocking bar, and the small shaft is arranged in the waist groove and can relatively slide; and the distance A between the center line of the small shaft and the center line of the driving shaft, the distance B between the center line of the small shaft and the center line of the output shaft when the small shaft slides to the maximum amplitude state in the waist groove and the distance C between the center line of the driving shaft and the center line of the output shaft meet the relation that A2+B2 = C2. When the crank drives the rocking bar to form a positive 90-degree included angle, the self-locking of the output shaft is realized; and the speed operation curves of the crank and the rocking bar are symmetrically and normally distributed, so that the operation shaking of a brake bar can be reduced.
