The invention relates to the technical field of refractory materials, in particular to a high-strength chromium-magnesium-free refractory ramming material and a preparation method thereof. The material comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight: 20-40 parts of high-purity magnesia particles; 6-9 parts of anhydrous magnesium sulfate; 4-8 parts of white corundum fine powder; 6-10 parts of zirconium oxide fiber; 2-4 parts of a complexing agent and a buffering agent; 3-6 parts of an adhesive; and 2-5 parts of an enhancer. The ramming material does not contain chromium, so that harm to a human body and the environment is avoided; the zirconium oxide enables the thermal chemical property of the ramming material to be more stable, and the corrosion resistance, the oxidation resistance and the thermal shock resistance are further enhanced; and due to the magnesium lactate magnesium enhancer, the sintering resistance and the volume stability of the ramming material are improved.
