The invention provides a silicon carbide ceramic. The silicon carbide ceramic comprises, by weight, 45-96.8 parts of silicon carbide; 1-15 parts of calcium boride; 1-15 parts of an aluminum carbide functionally graded material; 1-20 parts of a metal simple substance; 0.1-3 parts of boron carbide; and 0.1-2 parts of carbon. The calcium boride can improve the compactness of the material and is also a good reinforcing and toughening material, the aluminum carbide functionally graded material is an excellent reinforcing and toughening material of silicon carbide ceramics, and the metal elementary substance not only has good ductility, but also can react with a residual carbon source in a structure to generate a corresponding cemented carbide phase, and boron carbide and carbon are used as sintering aids of the silicon carbide ceramic, so that sintering densification is facilitated.
